The bees on this Island, have over the years produced a fine drop of honey, which in the hands of our Beekeeping Showfolk has performed extremely well against honey produced from all over the world.

Each year at the National Honey Show in London, Class 1 is open to the entire world.  Twenty- four jars of honey from each exhibitor are examined in the minutest detail.

What follows is the list of winners from both North and South of the Border:-

YEAR NAME AREA
1949 Mr Thomas Johnston Bessbrook, Co Armagh
1971 Bro. O’Farrell Athy, Co Kildare
1975 Mr Tom Maher Kildangan Co Kildare
