Electric Brush Uncapping Machine

We have a single brush electric uncapping machine, which we have found to be difficult to use, particularly with deep frames of honey.

As the brush revolves, the idea is that you hold a sealed frame against it and the brush strips off the wax cappings.  This is fine in theory but in practice the revolving brush draws the frame closer to the centre spindle of the brush, the resistance builds up and the motor is stopped.  The end result is more honey in the cappings tank, than is left in the frame for extraction!

No doubt some alteration is required to this apparatus to make it more efficient, but we are at a loss as to what is required.  We would be grateful to hear from anyone who has experienced any similar problems and how they have been solved. (Contact Us)

In the meantime we have declared this piece of apparatus a "dead duck" and have resorted to using the old trusty cappings fork or electric knife.
