BENEFITS OF JOINING OUR ASSOCIATION |
| Included in your Membership fees, is £3 which provides
you, the Association and your apiary with third party public liability
insurance. This covers all your hives and hive products.
If someone takes an adverse reaction to being stung by your bees, or the pot of honey he bought from you did not come up to expectations, you will be covered. In addition to the above you will be able to: | |
| 1. | Join us in a "United Front" against the imminent arrival of the dreaded Varroa mite. |
| 2. | Become part of the beekeeping community and share experience and knowledge. |
| 3. | Be sure that friendly assistance is only a phonecall away. |
| 4. | The Association offers beekeeping
equipment for sale at very reasonable rates;
Examples include: Thymol, Acetic Acid, Honey Jars and lids, Cut comb tubs, frames and wax foundation, frame holders, fondant, Varroa floors and screens, PDB crystals etc. |
| 5. | You may hire honey extracting equipment so that you may then produce runny honey rather than just cut comb. |
| 6. | We will, provided we can get the man power, be offering a library service in the near future. We currently have in excess of 200 books, all on beekeeping. |
| 7. | Be able to enter ALL classes at our Annual Honey Show, and join in the the friendly competition. |
| 8. | We offer a mentor scheme to assist two types of beekeeper: The young person starting out and the older experienced keeper who is operating outdated equipment. |
| 9. | The Association will take your excess honey and sell it for you for a small percentage of the total price. (see Honey For Sale) |
