| brief description: |
EABKA was formed in 1941 and was one of the founder associations of the UBKA. It is a small
association covering the East Antrim area from Glenarm to Whiteabbey to Ballyclare and Doagh.
In 1992 the Association installed a dedicated Association Apiary in Redhall Estate for the purpose
of educating the younger members and prospective members in Apiculture.
Unfortunately Health & Safety regulations and other legislation was introduced which curtailed this
educational programme.
The Association still meets four times a year, at least, in Ballycarry Community Hall and these meetings
are open to beekeepers and non-beekeepers who may wish to take up the craft.
